Abstract:
(+) 3H ABA, prepared from (±) [3H] ABA by HPLC on a chiral column was fed to isolated rose petals; changes in metabolism of this natural enantiomer were studied along with petal senescence.
The capacity to metabolise ABA into its inactive forms decreased with the age of the petal, this decrease affected both oxidation and conjugation processes.
Preservatives known to delay senescence, slowed down these changes in metabolism.
