ROOTSTOCK USED FOR ROSE BUSHES GROWN IN FOIL TUNNELS IN POLAND

Authors:   J. Hetman, K. Pudelska
Abstract:
In Poland the most frequent rootstocks for roses are the species: R. canina and R multiflora. The studies evaluated the usefulness of five rootstocks for the quality of bushes of several varieties of roses cultivated in a foil tunnel, in the conditions of Easter Poland. The evaluation of morphological features of bushes reveals that greatest fresh mass of a bush and the numerous 1-st order shoots were characteristic of the bushes budded on R multiflora rootstocks. The highest yield of flowers in the third and fourth year of cultivation was characteristic of the bushes of the cultivars budded on the rootstock of R. indica, R. dumetorum, R. multiflora.
