BLACK CURRANT CULTIVARS RESISTANT TO THE GALL MITE (CECIDOPHYOPSIS RIBIS WESTW.) AS AN ELEMENT OF INTEGRATED PEST MANAGEMENT

Authors:   D. Gajek, J. Nowacki, J. Boczek
Abstract:
The study on selected black currant cultivars resistant to the gall mite (Cecidophyopsis ribis Westw.) began in 1993. It was also found that many cultivars demonstrated variable density of mite population depending on the place of observations and the year. Changes in peroxidase activity showed that on Ribes species resistant to the gall mite induced antibiosis might occur.
