Abstract:
Mathematical models have been constructed, simulating the development of Cydia pomonella, Adoxophyes orana and Cacopsylla pyricola. The models are driven by daily temperature records.
They have been validated by comparing their predictions with field observations over several years.
The models have been incorporated into a software package called PEST-MAN, for use on a PC. The system provides information on the optimal timing for monitoring operations and pesticide applications.
