ISHS Acta Horticulturae 419: I International Symposium on Pistachio

THE EFFECT OF SAMPLING TIME, TYPE OF SEEDLING AND ORGANS ON THE CONTENT OF MINERAL ELEMENTS AND REDUCING SUGAR FORM IN PISTACIA SEEDLING

Authors:   G. Idem, Ö. Gezerel
Abstract:
The study was carried in Sanliurfa at arid condition. 2 pistachio species namely P. vera L. (Uzun and Siirt) and P. khinjuk stocks were used as seedling. Root, stem and leaf samples from seedling taken between April-December were analysied for mineral elements and reducing sugar. The effect of sampling time, type of seedling and organs were analysed.

In this research, content of N, P and reducing sugar were found higher in the spring time. Also Zn, Fe was increasing during the season. When the varieties were examined for their inclusing, it was noticed that Siirt had more mineral elements than others. While considering reducing sugar there was no difference among the varieties. Leaf had more N, K, Ca, Mg and Zn but reducing sugar was found very low.
