ISHS Acta Horticulturae 419: I International Symposium on Pistachio

PHYSIOLOGICAL DIFFERENCES OF SOME PISTACHIO VARIETIES DURING DIFFERENT VEGETATION PERIODS

Authors:   G. Idem, Ö. Gezerel
Abstract:
In this study, which was carried out in 2 different growers orchards in the province of Sanliurfa, pistachios (Uzun) budded on P. vera L. and P. khinjuk rootstocks were used. The leaf samples taken from trees at the time of flowering period, fruitset, verasion and harvest were analysed for mineral elements.

The effect of rootstocks, alternate bearing, sex, time of sampling, content of mineral elements were tested.

According to the outcome of this work it was found that while N and P were decreasing parellel to vegetation period K, Ca and Mg were increasing. The amount of Fe and Zn were highest in spring time. P. khinjuk stocks. absorbed all mineral elements but Zn and Fe better than the others.

Alternate bearing were affecting the content of all mineral elements but N and K.
