THE EFFECT OF GA3 APPLICATIONS ON PISTACHIO NUT SEED GERMINATION AND SEEDLING GROWTH |

| Abstract:
The purpose of the work was to determine the effects of GA3 on the rate of germination, plant height and lengths of internodiums in the GA3 treated seeds of Siirt pistachio variety. The seeds were soaked in different doses (0, 125, 250, 500 and 1000 ppm) of GA3 solutions for either 24 or 48 hours. According to the results, the highest germination rate (73.33 %) was obtained with 125 ppm GA3 and 48 hours soaking. The maximum seedling heights and internodium lengths were obtained by 1000 ppm GA3 and 48 hours soaking. However, according to the visual observations, healthy seedlings were obtained from 250 and 500 ppm GA3 treatments. | |
