OBJECT-ORIENTED PROGRAMMING: A BETTER TOOL FOR MODELLING DISEASE EPIDEMICS?

Authors:   R. Dietrich, Ph. Blaise
Keywords:   epidemiology, Oberon, simulation
Abstract:
Recognizing an increasing trend towards object-oriented programming (OOP), this study applied OOP for modelling plant disease epidemics. A short description of OOP and selected concepts of the OOP-world are presented. The discussion about disadvantages and advantages of OOP is directed toward building a framework for plant disease epidemics.
