Abstract:
Information relating to asparagus tiprot generated from the Levin Research Centre's asparagus research programme is reviewed.
Koch's postulates for determining that microbes cause a symptom (tiprot in this case) are not met.
The research results relating to the effects of soil moisture, season, harvest period and plant genotype are reviewed and it is clear that the syndrome is a complex interaction between storage regimes, plant genotype and metabolic needs.
