| Abstract:
Cultivar groups in the genus Tulipa L. (Liliaceae) have been used almost since the introduction of the genus in western Europe. The major developments of the cultivar groups from Clusius in 1601 up to the 1987 cultivar register are given. The main divisions of Early, Late and Mid-Season flowering are still in use, although dating from 1601. | |
