Abstract:
The performance of the sweet cherry varieties 'Van', 'Germersdorfi óriás' and 'Linda' was evaluated after five years in a rootstock trial on the following rootstocks: Mazzard seedling 'C 2493', Mahaleb cherries 'Korponay', 'Dunabogdány', 'Sainte Lucie 64', and the hybrid rootstocks 'Colt', 'MxM 14', 'MxM 97'. Additionally, the same varieties were grafted on interstems of the sour cherries 'Érdi bôtermô', 'Pándy meggy', 'Meteor korai', 'Debreceni bôtermô', and 'Prob' (P. fruticosa) on Mahaleb seedling rootstocks.
After 4 years, trees on Mahaleb clone 'SL 64' were largest and those on MxM stocks smallest.
Specific fruit yields on MxM were double that of trees on other rootstocks.
