Abstract:
In order to achieve early and high yield in sweet cherries, an experiment with four training methods and three planting densities using the variety 'Van' grafted on the dwarfing rootstock 'Damil' was planted at Ullensvang Research Station, Norway in 1991. Preliminary results indicate that total shoot growth and number of flower clusters increase with planting densities.
The Y-trellis tree system has the highest yield potential.
