Abstract:
The flowering phenophase of sour cherry (Prunus cerasus L.) was studied by applying an index (Index-V), which expresses the flowering process on the basis of the frequency distribution of three sequential stages (buds, flowers in anthesis and post-flowering). It is concluded that the Index-V can be used in the analysis of the flowering process.
It may contribute to a more precise comparison of cultivars, and to a better selection of pollinating cultivars.
