Abstract:
The average number of flowers per shoot (one year old) was significantly lower in case of EM. IX as compared with MM. 106 or MM 111. On the other hand, averages of flowers on spurs per branch were the highest on MM 106. Initial fruit set and fruit retention of terminal buds percentages of one year old shoots were the highest followed by spurs, while lateral buds on one year old shoots were the lowest.
Yield and yield efficiency were higher on MM. 106 followed by MM.III, while it was the least on EM.IX. Physical and chemical properties of fruits showed slight differences due to the studied rootstocks.
