Authors:   E.-G. S. El-Banna, Saad A. El-Shall, B. A. Shahin
Abstract:
Le-Conte pear trees on Pyrus communis L., were exposed during dormancy stage, late January 1990 and early February 1991 to spray applications of different treatments of Universal oil, Potassium nitrate, thiouria, krestalon and GA3. Universal oil was applied either separately or in combination with the other compounds as well as GA3. Highest percent values of flower buds were obtained on trees sprayed with Gibberellic acid, or Universal oil mixed with Gibberellic acid in the two seasons. This was associate with increasing percentage of fruit set. Least fruit drop was obtained for trees sprayed with Universal oil mixed with Gibberellic acid. Fruit characteristics were not affected by different treatments.
