Abstract:
Techniques are described for evaluating Brassica oleracea accessions against the cabbage aphid, Brevicoryne brassicae, in the glasshouse.
The plant material evaluated included a wide range of horticultural brassicas representing the genetic and geographic diversity of B. oleracea, thus forming a core collection of the crop.
In total, 264 accessions were evaluated during a period of 18 months.
Several sources of partial resistance were discovered in brassica cultivars and breeding lines.
