Abstract:
To make clear the inner structure of Brassica chimera, we have synthesized several types of chimera using transgenic rape with GUS gene.
GUS expression patterns generally corresponded to each chimeral type in the leaf of chimeral plant (Hirata et al., 1993). In addition to GUS expression analysis, subepidermal cell size, anthocyanin pigmentation and acid phosphatase isozyme pattern were investigated.
From these results, cell layer constitution of leaf in Brassica is originated from three germinal layers (LI-LII-LIII).
