ELECTRONIC DEVICE FOR AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF A SOIL TILLAGE EQUIPMENT

Authors:   A. Fabbri, P. Liberati, F. Pezzi
Abstract:
An electronic control system, using a microprocessor card, on a soil tilling (spading machine, subsoiler, rotary tiller), seeding and fertilizing machine has been developed. The machine has an electrically driven hydraulic circuit and several transducers. In building the data acquisition network and the control system, the following advantages were taken into consideration:
  1. automatic adjusting of the implements parameters, to realize a working cycle able to operate continuously within the available power, and to adapt to soil conditions and forward speed;
  2. controlling power distribution to the various elements of the machine
  3. avoiding damages of tools from improper use.

The system records and manages the data of different working sessions and shows the values of several significant parameters in graphic form. Furthermore, many field tests have been performed to check the capabilities of the system in terms of work regularity and ease of use.
