ISHS Acta Horticulturae 405: VI International Symposium on Postharvest Physiology of Ornamental Plants

THE EFFECT OF EXOGENOUS CYTOKININS ON LONGEVITY OF CUT ROSES

Authors:   A. J. Lukaszewska, P. Barthe
Abstract:
When zeatin and zeatin riboside were applied as holding solutions to cut roses, longevity of 6 cultivars was increased on an average of 20 %, 2iP and 2iPA being the least effective.

Measurements of senescence indicators (cell sap osmolarity and conductivity) confirmed the positive effect of the Z-group cytokinins.
