ESTABLISHMENT OF FINE GERMPLASM GENE POOL FOR ANNUAL & BIENNIAL HERBACEOUS FLOWERS

Authors:   C. Gaisheng, S. Ailing
Keywords:   gene pool, rouging selection, separate purification
Abstract:
To set up a gene pool for annual and biennial plants is the needs of cross-breeding and the new herbaceous on developing landscape gardening enterprises. The researchers look up on these above as a long-term goal. In light of the natural climate in Baotou, we introduced many species from abroad through exchange, purchase, and presentation on the basis of deep investigation and wild collection both at home and abroad.

According to the theory and the technology in genetic breeding, we have done the experiments on the species sources and the variety contrast for several years. By the repeated rouging selection and the separated purification with the method of the selection and the purification to the plant group, the pure annual and biennial improved varieties of 39 families, 102 genera, 298 species have been preserved now. It made a foundation to the future cross-breeding variety improvement.
