Abstract:
Four combinations were obtained from Japanese sand pear (Pyrus serotina Rehd. var. culta) crossed with three local cultivars and Hangzhou Green crossed with Yali in the experiment.
The genetic variation of main characters were studied such as precocity, ripening dates, fruit shape, fruit weight, fruit skin color, core size, and fruit quality.
The result indicated that most of the characters in progenies were highly correlated with those of their parents.
The principles of selecting parents and the size of seedling population were put forward for high success rate of breeding.
