| Abstract:
Ponkan(Citrus reticulata Blanco) is one of the most excellent loose-skin mandarin varieties, but its seediness limits its value in fresh fruit market. An original seedless bud-mutant branch of Ponkan was discovered at Guilin-liangfeng Farm, in Guangxi Province in 1987. Through thirteen years' selective breeding, a new Ponkan strain-Guilin-liangfeng seedless Ponkan was selected cut. It possessed uniform and large fruit, bright fruit colour, and high yield. This paper emphatically reported the results of the cytological and embryological studies on Guilin-liangfeng seedless Ponkan. | |
