Abstract:
New Spinoch (Spinacia oleracea L) varieties A line which was selected from hybrid spinach in Holland and E. line which was selected from hybrid spinoch in English have characteristica of high yelld, goodquality and strong diseasse resistance.
They were experimented exemplarily at Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Wuhan, and Nanjing from 1989–1991, and used widely now.
The researches were conducted on the reproductive techniques of European spinach system, the results showed that adopted-seed sowing and sups-early sowing when the seeds were vernalizated on the conditions of 0–2°C for 10 days could be used to improve European system spinach varieties bolting and flowering very early, inn this way, European spinach could be got succedily at the North China.
It could make the ratio of male plants increasing and the ratio of the hermophrodite plants decreasing in a population by socking spinach seeds with 25ppm GA and spray on the leaf surface with 100ppm GA.
The contents of Fe element in european spinach varieties was as 3–4.6 times as China's; The contents of vitamin C in European spinach varieties was 48.4% higher than that of China's.
Spinach was commonly cultivited as one of the leafy green vegetables, especialy for it's widely adaptaion, strong tolerance of the cold sondition and seasonable suppling for the markets during the off-season periods in most North parts of China.
However, there were some problems in the production recently due to the poor growth vigor, undeveloped leaves, early bolting, unsatisfactory commercial qualities and shorter suppling period etc.
For dealing with those requested and then were introduced from English and Holland in 1986. The selection of new advanced round-leaf varieties was started, and meanwhile the techniques of reproduction for the European spinachsystem was also studied.
