Abstract:
Two cycies of maternai pedigree seiection in maie sterile-plants (MPSMS) and maternal pedigree selection in male fertile plants(MPSMS) were conducted in a local variety. The screening and analysis of components of white shaft weight were evaluated by progressive regression and path coefficient with three replications. The results showed that the components of white shaft weight in MPSMS were not the same as those in MPSMF. In green onion breeding for high weight of white shaft, the selection for increasing white shaft length was more important than white shaft diamter in MPSMS. But in MPSMF, the selection for increasing white shaft diameter plaid a more important role than plant height.
