Abstract:
A series of cucumber gynoecious Lines with chinese characters and different ecotypes, and a set of new hybrids with different ripening habit were bred by crossing and backcrossing superior gynoecious hybrid introduced from abroad with chinese Local varieties of north type which are good resistant to disease, and by screening the disease resistance by hand inoculation in seedling and field assessment.
The extension of new hybrids have not only produced a significant economical returns, but also increased cultivar types and enlarged gene bank which increase the ways and methods of selection and utilization of new cucumber varieties in China.
