Abstract:
Seedling of more than 300 cucumber germplasms colected at home and abroad were inoculated artificially and tested for their resistance to diseases.
Nine blight-resistant varieties or lines were thus identified and one of which, Da-ya-Da-Diao-Gua, was crossed and back-crossed with a gynoecy line, "Yue-Zao 82". Through pedigree selection for seven generations by means of seedling inoculation and nursery induction of diseases, a female line, with resistance to five diseases, called "82Da", and other antigen materials, such as Da-ya 8303, were obtained.
By crossing the "82Da" with other excellent materials, 37 combinations were made and then compared in a series of trials, Two combinations of superior quality, disease resistance and high yielding were selected, namelly 'Xia Qing4' and 'ZaoQing2'.
