STANDARDISATION OF CHEMICAL ANALYSIS OF GROWING MEDIA |

| Abstract:
In Working group 4 "Analytical Methods" of the Commission for Standardisation of Soil Improvers and Growing Media (CEN TC 223) a proposal was made to determine some plant nutrients by water extraction and most of them by a DTPA/CaCl2 (Alt and Peters, 1993) extraction. Results of investigations at the Glasshouse Crops Research Station at Naaldwijk showed that this proposal will bring difficulties. In this paper data of both extraction methods will be presented and the problems that may appear will be discussed. | |
