| Abstract:
The ISHS-Working Group on Standardization of Analytical Methods and Evaluation of the Results (Commission for Plant Substrates) has been involved in ring tests and studies for physical and chemical characterization of plant substrates, soil improvers and their basic ingredients (peat, bark, perlite, rock wool and various other kinds of organic and inert materials). From this the need arose to have plant substrate reference samples at our disposal, mainly for laboratory quality control and for calibrating measurements under routine conditions. In this paper, the physical characteristics of 3 reference materials are described in response to a need to help all laboratories to improve their analytical performance. | |
