| Abstract:
It is with a real pleasure that we are presenting the 4th number of the Acta horticulturae. In this pages are recorded the lectures given from the 31st May until the 4th June 1965 at the Hague during the "Conference on vegetable growing under glass" organized by the "Commission on protected cultivation" in cooperation with the "Section for vegetables". More than a hundred specialists coming from 26 countries attended this meeting that has grown to a real success, and followed with great interest the 40 lectures and the visit to several research stations and farms. We would like to thank Mr van Koot, secretary of the "Commission on protected cultivation" and his staff who all together contributed to the full success of the Conference. Many thanks also to the "Section for vegetables", to the chairmen and secretaries of the colloquia as well as to the correctors of the English text. Last but not least we would like to thank all the members of the Conference. Some of them did come quite a long way and their presence did assure the success of the Conference. May the example of the Conference be followed and thus show the vitality of the I.S.H.S. | |
