Abstract:
Eight different substrates, such as two peat types, one ready-made substrate, compost and mixtures of peat, compost and substrate with enriched zeolite (Zeoplant) were used in the production of tomato and pepper seedlings. The seedlings were grown in containers according to 'speedling' system and conventionally, in boxes. The study showed that the highest seedling quality was achieved using the mixture of substrate, peat (2/3) and enriched zeolite (Zeoplant) (1/3). Other components mixed with enriched zeolite produced high quality seedlings grown according to both systems.
