Abstract:
In Prunus spachiana and Prunus persica it was reaffirmed, using authentic 13-bydroxylated GAs (GA1 and GA3), that the weeping habit may be caused by the failure of the hormonal-control system relating to GAs.
In both plants, exogenous IAA had no significant effect on the inhibition of branch bending.
However, since the occurrence of IAA was confirmed in Prunus persica as well as in Prunus spachiana, the possibility that IAA may act together with GAs in the inhibition of branch bending should be studied further.
