Abstract:
Strawberry plants were treated with plant growth retardants, uniconazole and isoprothiolane before formation of flower buds, 30 days before planting.
The strawberries were planted in the middle of September and subjected to forcing under a high tunnel.
When 12.5ppm uniconazole was applied, budding of the primary flower bud, flowering of the primary flower and harvest of the primary fruit occurred 2 days earlier than in the control.
Also, the application of 40ppm isoprothiolane advanced harvest date.
As a result, early yields in December and December to January were increased by these treatments.
