| Abstract:
No phytoplasmas nor rickettsia-like organisms (RLO) were detected by polymerase chain reaction (PCR), using primers derived from the 16S rRNA gene, DAPI fluorescent tests or electron microscopy studies in experimentally inoculated Lord Lambourne apple trees. The results obtained seem to indicate that the apple rubbery wood disease is not associated with phytoplasmas or RLOs. | |
