EFFECT OF POTASSIUM NITRATE AND HYDROGEN CYANAMIDE ON APRICOT |

| Abstract:
Apricot trees of cultivars Tokaloglu and Sekerpare were foliar sprayed with potassium nitrate at a concentration of 8 % and Dormex (49 % hydrogen cyanamide) at 5 % and 3 % levels prior to bud-burst in 1992 and 1993. Further potassium nitrate treatments were repeated twice at a concentration of 2 % after leaf formation. The effect of foliar sprays on blooming, fruit set, maturation rate and fruit quality was investigated. Average fruit weight, total soluble solids, titratable acidity (as malic acid) and pH were among the attributes examined in terms of fruit quality. | |
