INVESTIGATION OF APRICOT GERMPLASM PRUNUS ARMENIACA L. IN SITU IN SFR YUGOSLAVIA |

| Abstract:
During the 1989–1991 we have studied and selected 43 genotypes, within the large number of local-indigenous old apricot cultivars and primitive cultivated landrace. Amoung them there are highly resistance to virus Sharka (Prunus virus 7) 5,4% and resistance or tolerance 54,0%. Then, highly resistance or tolerance to Monilinia laxa 8,2% as and to Clasterosporium carpophilum 8,1%, to Gnomonia erythrostroma 3,4%, to Cytospora cincta 8,2% and to Pseudomonas syringae 5,4%.Also, we have studied pomological-genetic characteristics, as tree vigour: extremely weak 2,6%,extremely strong 18,4%; season of flowering:very early 7,5%, very late 5,0%; harvest maturity:very early 9,4%, extremely late 2,3%;productivity: low 2,4%, extremely high 4,8%;kernel taste:sweet 67,5%, strong bitterness 10,0%;fruit size:very small 5,0%, extremely large 7,5%;flesh colour:white 10,0%,orange 52,5%; stone adherence to flesh:free stone 100%. The selected genotypes could be used for breeding programme and for roostocks, as well as relating to the diseases for further systematic research study in the experimental plots and in the laboratories. | |
