ISHS Acta Horticulturae 384: X International Symposium on Apricot Culture

UTILIZATION OF INDUCED MUTATIONS IN APRICOT BREEDING

Author:   V. Balan
Abstract:
Physical mutagenesis (the mutagenous agent was 60 Co O,3KR) led to the modification of the vigour of the Comandor standard phenotype, as well as of the 16% level of the refractometrically determined dry substance, of the 12 mg/100 g of vitamin C and of the 2,72 mg/100 g of the carotene in fruit.

The maximum level of certain biochemical components of fruits was 20,14 to 20,43 dry substance in 12% of the mutants, 20,21 to 20,42 vitamin C in 5%, and 0,36 to 0,40 mg/100 g carotene in 3% of the mutant populations.
