REPEATABILITY IN THE PRUNUS ARMENIACA L. AND THE IMPORTANCE REPEATABILITY IN BREEDING SELECTION

Authors:   Y. AKCA, S. Mehmet SEN
Abstract:
This research was conducted to determine the repeatability of fruit weight, soluble solid contents (%), seed weight, fruit length, fruit suture and fruit cheek which are important selection criteria in Prunus armeniaca L. 50 native apricot trees were used in the study. The repeatability was r =0.555±1.12 for fruit weigh; r =0.380±0.14 for soluble solid contents; r =0.706±0.10 for seed weight; r =0.601±0.12 for fruit length; r =0.359±0.14 for fruit suture; r =0.403±0.13 for fruit cheek.
