Abstract:
This two-year study was conducted in 1980 and 1981 on Erzincan plain, East Anatolia, with a rich cultivated and wild apricot population.
Our aim was to serve in solving the problem of frost injury in apricot flowers in late spring.
The late flowering trees were marked in both years and 10 types (nr 2, 8, 13, 20, 60, 62, 105, 135, 204, 205) were determined as relatively resistant to frosts with a good quality and sufficient fruiting.
The lowest temperatures were -4.8 and -4.4°C in 1980 and 1981, respectively.
The fruit quality properties of the selected wild forms were similar to those of Turkish cultural varieties.
