ISHS Acta Horticulturae 384: X International Symposium on Apricot Culture

APRICOT SELECTION STUDIES IN THE MEDITERRANEAN REGION OF TURKEY

Authors:   H. Ayanoglu, N. Kaska
Abstract:
Anatolia is one of the gene resource centers for apricots. A survey program was carried out in the Mediterranean region between 1979 and 1983. Fifty-one different apricot types were found in the region. The promising types were used in the adaptation trials. These types were planted at Alata Horticultural Research Institute in 1985. During the experiment the phenological and pomological characteristics of the types were investigated. All types were also evaluated for their precocity, fruit quality and yield.
