ISHS Acta Horticulturae 384: X International Symposium on Apricot Culture

PRODUCTIVE BEHAVIOUR OF APRICOT VARIETIES IN A WARM WINTER AREA

Authors:   J. Egea, J.E. Garcia, L. Egea, T. Berenguer
Keywords:   Prunus armeniaca, Crop. Yield, Precocity
Abstract:
The precocious productivity of some apricot varieties which entered into production very soon after implantation was a noteworthy characteristic of this study. Hatif Colomer and Beliana, for example, already exceeded 30 kg/tree by the fourth year after planting and Screara was even producing 40 kg/tree. Palstein showed an extraordinary productive capacity during the period 90–92 with a total of 349.5 kg/tree, double or even treble the production of some of the other varieties studied. Among the most productive were Bocuccia, Hatif Colomer, Bebeco and Screara. Beliana showed the best productive behaviour of the early ripening varieties.
