Abstract:
In this adaptation project, 25 native varieties selected in Malatya or gathered from different regions and 8 foreign apricot varieties were investigated with regard to their phenological and pomological characteristics and yield between 1974–1992 at the Horticultural Research Institute Malatya-Turkey.
All varieties were also evaluated for their suitableness for drying and processing.
According to the results: Çöloglu, Çekirge-52, Hacikiz, Wilson delicious, Aprikoz with regard to their yield and fruit quality, Hacihaliloglu, Çataloglu and Kabaasi for their suitableness for industry were found to be the most promising varieties.
