Abstract:
The nutritional status of the kiwifruit(Actinidia deliciosa)in relation to fruit storage and quality was investigated on seventy six representative farms of the main locations where the kiwifruit is cultivated.
For this purpose, the different growth stages of the vines' development, pruning, irrigation, general condition of the orchards, and yield were evaluated.
Every year, representative leaf samples from the middle of the annual regular twigs were taken in the middle of the growing period (July-August) to determine the nutrient content of the vines.
The yield was significantly correlated with leaf mineral content, according the multiple regression model (R2, Adj = 0.9744). The most important nutrients were Zn, Ca, K, N and the less important ones were Fe, B, Mg, P, Cu and Mn.
