USE OF UNFRIENDLY PLANTS AGAINST ROOT KNOT NEMATODES

Author:   A. Mateeva
Abstract:
The biocontrol of root knot nematodes needs a better understanding of the efficiency of the unfriendly plants related with them.

The effectiveness of some unfriendly plants - Tagetes patula and Cannabis sativa L. was examined in greenhouse experiments.

Observations were made on plant growth, yield and presence of diseased plants. The results showed that some of this alternative plant protection methods increased plant growth and yield.

Only in untreated plots, infection symptoms and root knot nematodes on plants were observed.
