| Abstract:
3,5,6,7,8-Pentamethoxy-1-O-primeverosylxanthone is a main constituent in cell cultures of Centaurium erythraea and Centaurium littorale. Extracts from C. littorale also contain the corresponding aglycone as a major component. In both cell cultures xanthone formation paralleled cell growth. Upon treatment with yeast extract the cultured cells accumulated 1,5-dihydroxy-3-methoxyxanthone. | |
