| Abstract:
The second symposium about problems related to vegetable storage was arranged by the working group 'Vegetable Storage' at Weihenstephan, Technical University of München, Federal Republic of Germany from September 3 to 7, 1973. The symposium was attended by 58 participants from 21 countries which by itself indicate that there exists a great interest in problems associated to this field and also a great need for information about recent results. Due to the many papers - covering several specialities and looking at the problems from different points of view - the symposium was very interesting and informative. The good discussions added also to this. Hospitality, excellent accommodation and excursions helped to make this symposium a success. Our sincere gratitude goes to Prof. Dr. D. Fritz and Dr. J. Weichmann who made this arrangement possible. Dr. J. Weichmann - the secretary of the symposium - did an excellent job both in preparing and realizing the symposium. He together with Miss E. Steiner also collected and prepared the papers for printing. A hearty thank goes to both of them. We also want to thank the Federal Minister of Food, Agriculture and Forestry in Bonn, Mr. Ert1 and the Bavarian Minister of Food, Agriculture and Forestry in München, Dr. Eisenmann for financial support.
