DETECTION OF ODONTOGLOSSUM RINGSPOT VIRUS WITH AN AMPLIFIED ENZYME-LINKED IMMUNOSORBENT ASSAY (ELISA) SYSTEM EMPLOYING A SECONDARY CYCLIC ENZYME REACTION

Authors:   S.M. Wong, S.H. Lim
Abstract:
The sensitivity of indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in detecting odontoglossum ringspot virus (ORSV) with and without an amplification system was compared. With the amplification system, the detection sensitivity of purified ORSV particles was 0.6 ng as compared to 2.5 ng purified ORSV particles without the ELISA amplification system. Results can be obtained within 15 minutes after adding the amplifier, as compared to 60 minutes required in an indirect ELISA.
