ISHS Acta Horticulturae 376: V International Symposium on the Processing Tomato

SOURCES OF RESISTANCE TO BACTERIAL DISEASES IN TOMATO WILD SPECIES

Authors:   V. Sotirova, N. Bogatsevska, L. Stamova
Abstract:
Bacterial diseases caused by Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. michiganensis, Xathomonas campestris pv. vesicatorio and Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato are one of the limiting factors for tomato production in many countries. Many accessions from genus Lycopersicon are evaluated for resistance during the last two decades in Bulgaria. Most of the accessions are resistant to Cmm, some of them showed resistance to Xcv and Pst and only individual accessions manifested resistance to Cmm, Xcv and Pst. These accessions are new promising sources of complex resistance to bacterial pathogens.
