Abstract:
The present paper shows the influence of water and nitrogen supply on some main yield components of processing tomato: red fruit yield, red fruit number, mean red fruit weight, green fruit yield, rotten fruit number, concentration of ripeness, soluble solids yield. Results refer to year 1992 and to six trials performed in four European Union countries. Effects of the same treatments were different in the various locations, depending on soil and climate. Considering the six experiments, increasing rates of water supply had a significant influence on main yield components, while the influence of nitrogen supply was generally weak.
