Abstract:
Quality of Hawaiian macadamia cultivars grown in various parts of the world depends on the cultivar.
Since they have been selected for specific locations in Hawaii, they cannot be expected to perform as well in other areas of the world where environmental conditions are different.
Quality of cultivars from good locations produce over 35 percent of recoverable no. 1 kernels while poor locations have less than 23 percent.
However, most locations produce commercially acceptable kernel size of 2–3 grams.
