EVALUATION OF MIXTURES OF FUNGICIDE WITH MINERAL OIL TO CONTROL BANANA YELLOW SIGATOKA (MYCOSPHAERELLA MUSICOLA) |

| Abstract:
Between november 92 and june 93 a field experiment was carried out in order to test several mixtures of mineral oils with fungicides and emulsifiers to control yellow Sigatoka. Treatments were performed on a 15- year-old plantation of the CV. Nanica in Miracatu region S,P, Brazil, and comprised the following dosages in !/ha: 1 - mineral oil (M. 0.) + propiconazole CE 25% (12 to 15l + 0.4l), 2 emulsifiable mineral oil (E. M. O.) + propiconazole CE 25% + H2O(2l + 0.4l + 18l), 3 - E.M.O. + propiconazole CE 25% + H2O (2l + 0.4 l + 18 l), 4 - E.M.O. + tebuconazole CE 25% + H2O (2 l + 0. 5l + 18l), 5 - M. O. + tebuconazole CE 25% (12 to 15l + 0.5l), 6 - M. O. + pyrazophos CE 30% (12 to 15l + 1.5l), 7 - M. O. + carbendazim SC 50% + E. M. O. (12 to 15l + 0.5l+0.6l), 8 - chlorothalonil SC 50% H2O (2l + 18l), 9 - M. O. + bromuconazole CE 20% (12 to 15l + 625l), 10 - M. O. + methyl thiophanate SC 50% + E. M. O. (12 to 15l + 0.8l +0.6l), 11 - M. O. + epoxiconazol CE 12.5% + E. M. O. (12 to 15l + 24l + 0.6l), 12 - M. O. (12 to 15l). The treatments 1 to 12 were applied in blocks of 2,000 to 3,000 m2. Spraying was performed at intervals of 3.5 to 5 weeks by using a back - back power-sprayer. The evaluation for each treatment was done in june, at random, considering 10 plants with bunches ready to harvest, and 10 plants in blooming stage. For analysis and interpretation of the efficiency of the tested combinations, the Martinez's system was used. In this system, the exception of treatment 12, all the remaining treatments ranked in the degree 5 (efficiency between 90 and 99%), indicating a very good control of the yellow Sigatoka. | |
